The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has entered into a strategic agreement with logistics firm Sky Brokers to provide pre-financing support for contractors and suppliers undertaking GETFund-backed projects.
This groundbreaking partnership, outlined in a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), is geared toward accelerating the pace of educational infrastructure development in line with President John Mahama’s national vision.
The agreement creates a framework through which Sky Brokers, in collaboration with its Chinese associate Jiangsu Yisong Construction Engineering Co Ltd, will deliver flexible financial solutions to help contractors meet upfront capital requirements for GETFund-approved initiatives.
The initiative is expected to help close funding gaps, minimise project delays, and ensure timely delivery of key school infrastructure across the country.
Speaking at the MoU signing, Administrator of GETFund, Mr Paul Adjei, stated: “One of the key challenges affecting timely project execution is access to upfront capital. This partnership with Sky Partners addresses that gap directly. It aligns with our commitment to deliver on our mandate effectively, ensuring that schools and educational facilities are delivered on time and at the highest quality standards.”
Managing Director of Sky Brokers, Mr Mesuna Deliman Osman, noted: “We are proud to collaborate with GETFund on this transformative initiative. Our financing solutions are tailored to support local contractors and suppliers, boosting their capacity to deliver. This MoU represents not just a financial partnership, but a shared vision to improve educational outcomes in Ghana.”
The partnership is also expected to shorten project delivery timelines, promote stronger participation by local contractors, and improve transparency and accountability throughout the funding and implementation process.
Both GETFund and Sky Brokers have pledged their commitment to delivering measurable gains in Ghana’s educational infrastructure, supporting the broader national goal of equitable access to quality education.
