Senior Partner at AB & David Africa, David Ofosu-Dorte has laid out a series of insightful projections designed to guide decision-makers through the year ahead.
He highlighted critical developments businesses should anticipate as they prepare to navigate the uncertainties of 2025.
Speaking at the annual Pan-African business forum, Crystal Ball Africa 2025, Mr. Ofosu-Dorte presented his predictions – structured around four key pillars: The Known, The Probable, The Wildcard, and The Watch.
Here are his 15 predictions
1. It’s the year of the wooden snake; starting in February in China; and this will be marked by risk and cunningness in the business space.
2. Global average GDP will be 3.3% but China will outpace the global average with 5.4% so they will still determine how rates will play out .
3. Japan will be in the news as it marks its 80th anniversary of Hiroshima nuclear strike.
4. Uber will introduce a robot taxi this year in the US.
5. African export maybe challenged as the EUDR policy will come into force.
6. 1700th anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea will be held in Turkey .
7. Digital rouble will be very much in the news. Crypto will be in the news . US PresidentTrump has already endorsed the crypto coin.
8. South Africa will take the G20 Presidency.
9. Agriculture will be the way out for Zimbabwe as it faces challenges. The country has been able to enter the blueberry market for the first time.
10. Working from home will come to an end as most of the big companies have begun calling back their staff but remote work is increasing.
11. The big boys in the oil industry will return to Nigeria and housing will continue to boom In Nigeria.
12. Taxes will dominate national debates in Ghana.

14. Ukraine-Russia War will end but someone will not be happy if this does happen.
15. Trump will travel to China and try to make a deal.
