The Women Caucus of Parliament on Friday paid a courtesy visit to Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang at Jubilee House, offering their support following her return from medical leave.
The female legislators, drawn from both the Majority and Minority sides, gathered at the Vice President’s office to express goodwill and solidarity after her months-long absence due to health concerns.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s first female Vice President, had been receiving treatment both locally and in the UK since early April and returned to the country on May 22, 2025. Her recovery was formally announced by the Jubilee House, and she has since resumed official duties, including appearances at high-level state events alongside President Mahama.

The interaction between the Vice President and the MPs reflected mutual respect and a shared commitment to national progress. The MPs reiterated their support for her leadership and emphasised the importance of unity across political lines in advancing Ghana’s development.

The Vice President also used the occasion to underscore the value of collective effort and inclusion in public service, noting the strength of women in governance.

The meeting affirmed not only the Vice President’s return to active duty but also the role of women’s solidarity in promoting leadership, resilience, and national cohesion.
