The Human Rights Court has thrown out an application filed by former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta, who was seeking to block the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) from declaring him wanted ahead of his expected court appearance on June 2, 2025.
Mr Ofori-Atta, who is facing multiple investigations by the OSP and other state institutions over his period in office, had requested the court to stop the OSP from issuing a “wanted” alert and circulating his image on online platforms.
He is currently under an active Interpol Red Notice, with extradition proceedings underway involving the appropriate international authorities to facilitate his return to Ghana.
The dismissed application is one of several civil actions he has taken against the OSP and the state, aimed at halting ongoing investigations or challenging the legal grounds for the arrest warrants being pursued in the probes.
