The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has reiterated government’s commitment to strengthening Ghana’s budding automotive sector, assuring members of the Automobile Assemblers Association of Ghana of enhanced incentives.
Speaking at the 2025 Ghana Automotive Summit held in Accra, Mr. Debrah underlined the critical role of the industry in national development through job creation, technological advancement, and industrial growth.
“As government, we remain committed to providing the right incentives and policy environment to encourage the growth of local automobile assembling. This sector is vital to Ghana’s industrial future,” he said.
He also urged stakeholders in the industry to embrace collaboration and dialogue to navigate existing hurdles that continue to impact the sector’s progress.
“We must work collaboratively to address bottlenecks within the sector—whether they relate to regulation, supply chains, or infrastructure. A united approach is key,” he emphasised.
The summit brought together key players including industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and manufacturers, to deliberate on the future of Ghana’s automotive landscape and explore investment pathways and policy direction.
In recent times, the Automobile Assemblers Association of Ghana has appealed for more deliberate state support to boost local vehicle production, citing stiff competition from imported vehicles and escalating operational costs.
