There was tension at the offices of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) as security operatives from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) conducted a targeted raid, leading to the arrest of three company directors.
The operation, carried out under court orders, was supported by National Security Secretariat personnel. Sources indicate that the OSP’s investigation into the controversial SML contract is in an advanced stage, with officials particularly interested in retrieving electronic data from the company’s servers.
The simultaneous searches occurred at SML’s Osu and Tema offices in Accra.
The latest move by the OSP comes at a time when efforts to bring former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to answer questions regarding various transactions, including the SML deal, have stalled. The difficulties in locating him have led the Special Prosecutor to formally declare him a fugitive from justice.
The raid is expected to provide new leads in the ongoing corruption investigations. Public reactions remain intense, as authorities ramp up efforts to hold individuals accountable.
