Ghana Airports Company Limited has congratulated Africa World Airlines on the launch of direct flights from Accra to Ouagadougou commencing June 3, 2025, with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

In a congratulatory letter to the airline, the  Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited, Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare said ‘’as a stakeholder in the Aviation Industry, GACL shares in your success and wishes you the best on the new route’’.

The introduction of a direct route signifies a new era of convenience and efficiency for both business and leisure travelers, offering passengers more options and seamless connectivity between Ghana and Ouagadougou.

In a related development, Uganda Airlines has obtained all the necessary permits and approvals to commence operations out of Accra.

The dates of commencement of operations and flight schedules will be communicated in due course. Uganda Airlines will become the 25th International Airline to operate into Kotoka International Airport.

These developments are a clear indication of the confidence in Ghana’s aviation industry and significantly enhances efforts at positioning Ghana as the preferred aviation hub and leader in airport business in West Africa
