Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Sam George, has announced plans to reform his ministry and its affiliated agencies.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra last week, Sam George stated that he has referred several contracts and agreements to Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine for review and advice.
He emphasized his commitment to “clean up the Ministry and its agencies” to enhance efficiency and transparency.
Among the contracts under scrutiny is the Common Monitoring Platform agreement, commonly known as KelniGVG.
Sam George declared that he will not extend this contract beyond its current term, signaling a move towards reevaluating existing agreements within the ministry.
“I have referred some contracts and agreements to the Attorney General [Dr. Dominic Ayine] for his study and advice. I will clean up the Ministry and its agencies.
“I wish to announce that I will not be extending the common monitoring platform contract popularly known as KelniGVG beyond its current date,” he stated.
KelniGVG was contracted on December 27, 2017, to build and operate a Common Monitoring Platform (CMP), which is an integrated single platform connecting to nodes in the networks of all Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and the Interconnect Clearinghouse (ICH) where traffic and revenues can be monitored.
